Photographing the Dot Day Parade from the inside out.

People watching parades are just as interesting as people in parades. On the first Sunday of June, my home town of Dorchester, Mass. celebrates the Dot Day Parade. I march in the parade (with an assistant for lighting) and make portraits of the bystanders. Not expecting to be photographed and with it only lasting seconds, they often can’t help but be themselves.
